She has also developed a unique understanding of the changing dynamics in healthcare and its impact on specialty pharmacy.
By partnering with vendors, medical providers and drug manufacturers, she has been able to educate patients and pharmacists on respiratory and infectious diseases, medication compliance, better devices for nebulization, as well as specialty billing requirements. Her strategies have led to increase in patient compliance and better outcomes. Rebecca’s background in retail and specialty pharmacy brings a new vision to quality of care.
Rebecca is a graduate of St. Louis College of Pharmacy with a BS in Pharmacy. After successfully completing a certification course on compounding sterile prescriptions offered through the University of Florida, Gainesville, she understands the importance of alternative medications and devices for patients suffering with chronic, orphan diseases. She spends most of her time traveling around the country sharing with others the role of specialty pharmacy and the many benefits to the medical community and patients they serve. Having been a “specialty” patient after a diagnosis of breast cancer, Rebecca knows first hand the challenges that these “special” patients encounter with their healthcare team.
