Getting better!
Well, started out a bit rough. The girls (all four of us) in a bit of a funk. It is so hard to be in a place that always feels a bit like the sun is about to set, even in the morning. I lived in Humboldt county for almost five years, this experience did not prepare me for the east coast Sweden winter. I LOVE Sweden and the folks here, do not get me wrong, but, they are the first to say that winters in Goteborg are a bit horrible. After three days, I may have to agree. I finally was able to get a mobile phone here, which is good. Skype is working and working well. And we were able to find a beautiful indoor market and a wine store! 
So, all is well. Then we went home to find a note from one of the case managers that had been out of town when this whole fiasco started and she said she was sorry and working on everything as hard as she could. Actually quite reassuring as Blue Card has proven to be a stellar company in my eyes, they are truly advocates for the patient and their services. I went about my days feeling like maybe things would turn up. Then the owner of the flat came up with a message to call the doctor and the head of the billing dept. here at the hospital. Both a bit perturbed at the insurance company and how much work they had put in and how far May had come to loose everything. So, we ended with high hopes to begin treatment this Monday as planned. I left the flat in great need of diapers and an adapter for Maylie’s nebulizer….day two of no treatment except albuterol and “thumpering.” A bit concerned about her lack of pulmoymze and irritated by the fact that I had forgotten an adapter for Maylie’s nebulizer, but remembered one for my computer (and yes, specific to my apple!). So, off I went in search. Found the diapers….but, still no adapter, everyone seems to be out! So, back home. Which is when I received a call from the insurance saying that we had been approved for everything at 100%!!! No deductible, no copay, nothing! Then she went on to say that my uncle called and was very sweet. So, big thanks to Uncle Joe!! Maylie is back on track! So, here we go with HUGE smiles and a bottle of wine and chocolate awaiting us once kiddos go to sleep.

Chocolate. It’s what makes the world go ’round…that and a good bottle of wine! So glad you’re celebrating and in position to tackle the week ahead. Keep your eyes on the prize and remember what FDR said, “When you come to the end of your rope, tie a knot and HANG ON!”

Glad to hear things are going well, and Sweden sounds great as well, hoping and praying Maylie’s treatment is equally swell, that’s the end of my silly poem on this log, and will keep following your family on this little blog!

Kat – just stumbled across your blog and am caught up on your trip to Sweden and everything that is going on! What a roller coaster! I’m so happy you’re there – sounds like the best place for Maylie and for you. And I always have a special place for Sweded in my heart after we travelled there – the people are amazing and obviously you have already seen that with the doctors, etc. I’m sending you lots of thoughts and prayers!
